You would end up with a lot of very unhappy players if everyone was good enough to be in the starting 11. It’s important to have players in a squad who are happy to fill the backup roles because they don’t quite have the quality of the first team.
Not really, most top clubs operate this way. The club thrives on completion for places and if a player knows that if they perform well they start is a recipe for success.

Do we want to operate in way that no matter what a player does in training or on match day they know they're only ever going to be second or fourth choice?

Back on track.... Other than Walta... What we thinking a defender or striker to come in? Can't see striker as I think Cullen will be used in that role. But worries me if VIP gets injured.

He hates it that Dimi used to make him look silly on the daily on here, he’s very bitter about it.
Battle of someone desperate to prove they have insider information against someone who actually did 😂

CB.

The striker situation is going to be interesting to see in the next 24 hours or so.

He looked furious when he was subbed in the cup game, walked past the manager and ignored him.
Just as well West Ham recalled him and sent him to league one. We don't have space in the squad for petulant loan players, if that what this was instead of being frustrated by getting hooked for not playing very well.

I would be massively surprised if we signed a striker, especially on a permanent deal.

Vipotnik is clearly established as our number one
Cullen isn't cut out to play as a lone striker but can serve as a backup to his role
End of March, start of April Idah is penciled in to return from his injury
Wales by all accounts is seemingly heading out on loan to Huddersfield for the 2nd half of the season
Widell was employed as a false nine by Matos previously

To be honest I just don't see anyone that we would bring in that wouldn't cost us crazy money over the next 30 hours or so, likewise I don't see what value bringing in some kid on loan for six months would offer too when we could have just used Wales for that

Stop talking sense immediately. It’s not appropriate on this thread.

I just don't see a striker coming in. We won't go permanent on one with VP here and spending decently on Idah. As stated above, it would be pointless loaning a youngster in and then send our youngster out.
