Agreement for Martin to go? As in mutual consent or has someone come in for him?

Neither is Twitter, and I can't say I blame them either.

Constructive criticism is fair enough, but a lot of posters on here are just downright miserable bastards (I thought I was bad), a lot of who don't even attend the games. And then when you add in the attention seeking, a thread of any actual substance is an extremely rare thing these days.

I only come here for your consistently positive posts.

He was obviously bored so decided to stir the pot

Nah I don’t think so, itchy has said a few things in the past which have come to fruition, but can’t for the life of me remember what it was!

Just hoping he’s been given dud info on this particular one. I heard they had told him they wanted him to stay, but whether they have just failed to come to an agreement I have no idea.

Personally, I hope it's not dud information. There are supporters at this club who would be happy with survival and mediocrity, as long as we beat Cardiff twice in a season. I don't count myself amongst them. Two wins and a draw have merely papered over the cracks. No doubt I'll get slated for that POV, but there you go.

No idea whether this is true or not and Itchy isn’t going to reveal his sauce.

FWIW, if this is a mutual parting without a significant severance package then I’m ok with it. I’m convinced that we can do better than Martin and that there are options out there who achieve greater consistency with this squad. I also wonder if this is linked to the talk of investment, maybe it’s a precondition of such a scheme.

For the Martin fanboys out there - don’t panic yet, the new guy might have cool hair and do selfies; traits of his which are marginally better than his defensive tactics.

I have mates who think like that, basically the same kinda mentality as wales rugby “fans” who only care about the England result.
Obviously beating Cardiff is great, but 44 other games in the championship are as important, and yes the last 3 games have lifted a mood, but before that as you say the season was at best mediocre, and Martin has to shoulder a portion of responsibility.

As I have said before: the owners are American, they are highly experienced in American sports where it is entirely normal for any coach to be appointed with performance metrics - fail and you're gone unless the owners decide a change won't improve things.

I strongly suspect this is an admission by both sides that Martin will not meet his metrics this season and frees both parties to openly start looking for their way forward.

What are those metrics (if they exist)? Your guess is as good as mine. I think playoffs probably - 'playoffs' is a big word in US sports.
