Captain Grimes on his way to Coventry City?

No other club stupid enough to pay him what we do until now it would seem.
Yep. You watch he goes and people will be bringing out his stats at Coventry. They mean nothing to me. What did it do in our 5-1? I will take a hungry young player with Franco and a soft reset. Something has to change. This might be a bleasing in disguise.

I can't see the Coventry fans giving him a free ride like some of ours do.

So what's the thoughts guys?

More money
Fed up with Williams
Fed up with the board
Not getting his own way.

If he goes, it looks very much that way, we certainly need to make use out of this tidy windfall from his sale and Whittaker sell on fee coupled with the wages opened up.

I would be happy to see him go as long as we get the players in that we require
Midfielder to replace Grimes
Attacking midfielder
Winger
Even a striker on loan

Big week coming up for all at the club.
Perhaps it's all of the above & like us he's been here long enough to witness the decline where there is no real sign of improvement on or off the pitch. He also sees and hears things behind the scenes.

As for his replacement, based on the window so far is anyone confident that quality players will be signing for us?

DMs tend not to produce many assists. You can get into the top 10 ranking of DMs (just) with one assist. Franco only has one and plays further forward.
he takes most free kicks and corners... that would normally end up with some more assists.

also, whenever we do end up going 1-0 down, and we finally decide to attack. he always ends up in the final third attempting crosses and through passes or just do his usual faffing about.

Well it's going to bring in enough to get a replacement plus a few more, luckily there is no sell on fee to Exeter.

Will open up nearly 25k a week wages.

I just mentioned the sell on clause on another thread. That's good to hear!

Assuming Galbraith and that chap from Barnsley? Would that improve us...

There's probably some Coventry fans who saw the link to a Swansea player who most have never heard of, who come on here to see if there's any chatter and they see 1000 pages of angst, joy, conspiracy theories, apocalyptic foreboding etc. and are wondering what the f*ck is going on.

Good practice in thinking what the fuck is going on, it will be a constant question after they see Grimes play week in week out.

Be interesting to see if Grimes picks up a mystery knock and is out of the match on Saturday

It may not open up the £25k in wages because if there’s a need to balance the books then they’ll trouser some if not all of the wages as saving.

We’d hope there money for replacements, but that remains to be seen.

Some people think this is football manager.

There's a fair chance that most of the money we get from selling Grimes will just be eaten up elsewhere.

We've spent money over the last 18 months but virtually all of it has been totally and utterly wasted.

Possibly.

Given that we are only chucking out wages around 6/8k on wages then 2 players on 8k a week wil still see us nearly 10k a week better off.

Throw in the wages cleared off the books until the end of the season with outgoing loans, Abdullai and Abbey also off the wages.
