Poll: Happy with the way things are going?

I didn’t vote in the poll quite simply because there’s nothing to be happy with and there’s nothing to be unhappy about.
We aren’t great and we aren’t crap.
We’ve all seen better and we’ve all seen much much worse.
The sooner some people realise we are ‘currently’ nothing but average the better their lives will be.

Some people are clearly claiming we are better than we are though and they aren’t being called out on it.

And some people think we have a right to be better than we are. We've a budget in the bottom third of the division apparently; we're not replacing players who've left... Seems a bit daft to expect us to challenge for promotion.

When we get it right we play some nice stuff. 3 or 4 quality players and we could be a threat, but we aren't going to get those until we get new owners (unless we're very lucky with a batch of youngsters coming through).

What I'm unhappy about is we struggled 40 years to get into the top flight and threw it all away with poor leadership and greed and the fact it'll probably take another 40 years to get back to the top and I don't have another 40 years. 😂

And then there's others who think we have a half decent squad, who should be doing a lot better wth better tactics and management.

I hope the owners don't throw money at the current manager myself, they've more than backed hi to this point and his record is pretty rubbish. Nothing wrong with our owners, they have run the club very well since relegation.

On the bright side, it's not as good second time. You can die happy.

Hallelujah brother, some sense at last.

Martin arrived in the season after we finished 4th and lost in the play off final in his first season we finished 15th and seem to be set to finish atound there this season

We seem to have lots of player issues.....is this all down to the players? Patterson by Martin's own admission was a player he wanted to bring here and now it seems this player is a bad egg....

For me Im not convinced he has the correct man management skills or the tactical ability...also he has a massive ego.
18 months into "the process" we seem to going backwards he ostracises players, plays other out of position such as playing Rhys Williams on the right side of the centre back when he is left footed and played for Liverpool on the left whilst playing Cabango on the left despite him being.. naturally right footed.

He still doesn't seem to be learning....I'm deemed negative as I am not a happy clapper and dare to be realistic in appraising results etc .....Cooper a hero no just always wanted to have a level playing fiewld

I know we went round and round on Cooper when he left, plus I made a joke in another thread, but I'm in broad agreement with you here.

I defended Martin's results initially because I thought we were moving back towards a possession-based passing game as we did under Martinez/Rodgers/Laudrup. Unfortunately that hasn't developed and far too often it's possession with no purpose.

Cooper didn't achieve anything of note here (if you don't win in the playoffs, it really doesn't matter if you finish 3rd or 21st), but at least we were coming close. The downside was the football was dire.

Martin promised more enjoyable to watch football, but has only delivered in fits and starts, while we've been a long way from challenging for promotion. Added to which, as others have said, we're likely to have a weaker squad next season and the recruitment while Martin has been here has been mostly awful.

Bye bye at the end of the season for me, barring something incredible happening over the next few months.

This sums everything up perfectly for me.

Our club has no ambition. But we still have a good stadium, training facilities and at least want to play football and not that tosh that lot up the road play.

But it’s clutching at straws searching for good things to say about the Swans these days. We were everyone’s second favourite team those first few years in the Prem.

And I miss it. I miss having Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal visit every year. I miss the Liberty being sold out every other weekend. I miss the football we played.

Those days aren’t coming back whilst we have the Yanks in charge. It’s as black and white as that really.

That’s the myth that just won’t die.

We have a top 8 budget, people really don’t realise that many in this divisions spend nothing in years.

Not only are we among the top 10 spenders, we have a top 10 valued squad and top 8 salary budget.

Which part of our budget makes us bottom third exactly?

THIS!

It does make it look extremely bad judgement that we swapped Cooper with Martin.

Out of the cup after a replay and extra time with littke prospect of reinforcements soon.

I don't feel particularly happy tonight.
