• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Whittaker has bags of skills. Needs to learn to play a pass. Lowe - confidence is everything. Top player there. I reckon he’s got what it takes to go far.

There's an interesting assessment of us by a Blackburn fan on their forum that I agree with:

"Swansea are in crisis, a good manager gone a week before the season and replaced by someone unproven, and so many key losses/absentees, Guehi, Woodman and Hourihane returning to their parent clubs, Ayew leaving on a free, Grimes with a knock and an unsure future, Roberts injured, Walsh a doubt and Fulton suspended. 7 of the 11 that started the play off final all out. We won't have many easier games all season from an opposition perspective."

But otherwise, their fans are incredibly pessimistic, with most of them thinking that we'll win it. I can't see that myself, so I'll go for a routine 2-0 to Blackburn, which won't be the end of the world.

7 of the 11 who started the shitshow that was our playoff final not here? Pretty sure thats a blessing in disguise if I am being blunt about it

Not sure who this person has been talking to but I am definitely feeling that the Swans can take this, and even if we don't there are plenty of signs that behind the scenes the work is being done to address the squad in terms of both strength and depth.

Its gonna be difficult to predict our XI for this game with no preseason under RM to use as a reference, but almost certainly its going to be 3-5-2 or 3-4-3.

A very interesting assessment, especially iun it's naivety. One I couldn't possibly disagree with more. How on earth can you be happy with a 2-0 defeat? We are far better man for man than they are (especially without Armstrong). Anything other than 3 points and I will be mightily annoyed

If Martin is looking to change things from the off I'd expect us to look disjointed to the point of being a bit of a shambles.
That isn’t having a go it's just what I expect given the circumstances of new players, protracted pre-season, no pre-season with a new manager and a move away from what they had to become used to under Cooper.
Every manager needs time to acclimatise but this season will be difficult. The next 4 games will make up the pre-season draw backs and then another half dozen to start seeing what we will be all about for the rest of the season.

2-0 Swans. Lowe and Whittaker.

Blackburn will be relegated.

I'd take any kind of result today, with signs of us being more dominant in possession
its a 46 game season
Im looking forward to seeing the team and formation though

0 - 2 win
First League game in front of the Jack Army
Can't wait
COYS

Not sure how anyone could be confident of any scoreline anywhere in the country today. Any result possible.
Tho I'll take a point right now thanks.

Really have no excitement about this season yet, I think Cooperball last year and his shenanigans in the close season has sucked any feel good factor out of me, hoping its not a long term thing, but COYS

Is the subs bench the youngest /least experienced one we've ever had?

The game is being broadcast worldwide so good chance of some decent links.......
