• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Huw Jenkins mentioned when we were in League 1/2 that we always struggled to convince players to make the journey down here when they had options more central to London

I think this may be more of a problem with loaning players - players who may be looking for the best short term solution for them and location will be an important part.

I think money has a big thing in these things rather than nightlife and shopping.
I agree, a football career is a short one, so they will always go for the money. A manager’s can be longer in terms of age but again, how long is a managers avagage time at a club, and of course if they are rubbish the career is probably short also

Look at some of the big city boys players we’ve had, is it really that much of a dealbreaker not having huge shopping centres here?

Sigurdsson came from London, Fabianski came from London, Llorente came from Sevilla, Gomis from Lyon list goes on
Leon from London, Trundle from Liverpool way, and they have actually stayed here .

Don't agree - this is like looking at an issue from both sides and drawing different conclusions.
We as a club are very wary of doing business in January because there are desperate players in the market and prices can be unrealistically high.
I agree with this 100% as a buying club - as a general rule the best business is done "off season"
However - as a selling club - it might be the perfect time to relieve a desperate club of more money than they want to spend. Literally the desperation is the leverage.
Burnley really resemble that description and have a premier league budget. If they made an offer of (lets say) 20 million. That is not a vast sum at the top table - but a massive squad building investment for a club like ours.
all depends how we spend that 20m

7m on Idah
5m on Inoussa

I know those prices might not be correct but you get my drift 20m does not always go very far.

If any truth in it maybe monitoring if Galbraith is sold?
Why,Galbraith is our RB by all accounts 🤣

It seems that Vipotnik and Galbraith talk is slowly cranking up. I am at the point of taking a decent fee for Galbraith this window if they are planning to play him RB going forward in this season.

Where are the Galbraith links? Haven't seen any.

Hoping we don't sell anyone
We are supposed to be building a team to take us forward .
From where we have come from it will take 2 transfer windows to achieve .

Isn't the club policy to buy, sell at a profit, develop, buy, sell at a profit,, develop ?
