I'd like to see how we'll function without Grimes personally, I'd think we'd be more direct without him, which is how we've gained our points this season, but he's not going to drop him, Grimes has put a spell on our whole training ground when he came back to us after relegating Northampton.. another 3 years of mediocrity beckons.. I'd like to give Williams another go personally

Alternatively to the 'spell' theory, 3 managers of professional football clubs (2 of whom played the game at a pretty high level themselves) all rate Grimes extremely highly and have made him one of their first names on the team-sheet. So perhaps it's just that you're wrong about him?

Playing Williams and dropping Grimes 🤣

You’ve lost the plot.

This would absolutely be my first choice lineup. The key is fast ball through the midfield to Ntcham, Paterson and Laird before teams have a chance to set up their two lines of 9 defenders in front of us. We have given Piroe sweet FA in terms of service the last couple of games because our buildup has been so slow.

What's so mental about dropping Grimes? I've never seen a player that's so mediocre yet get love from fans and managers as much as Grimes, we've had players twice as good as Grimes, yet they got criticised far more than Grimes.. JDG, Ki, Shelvey, even Mark Gower was a better player and had a better left peg.. I really don't understand the Grimes train, most overrated player we've had, he plays lovely 5 yards sideways and backward passes though.. and why not give Williams another go, I remember Guehi was even worse than Williams a few games into his first lot of appearances

We're currently in a mid table mediocrity slot, maybe people need to take the blinkers off, we're really ordinary and Grimes has gift wrapped a few goals this season, either a suicidal pass or missing simple interceptions and tackles that he should've made.. but his stats are great though

Just to add to the misery, I would not drop Bennett and I would consider playing Brandon Cooper.

Manning is doing really well and although we narrowly lost last time out I can see the back three getting another run for their money as we created a lot of chances against Reading and really should have scored a few more goals.

I don't think we are looking mediocre any more, Patterson's goal was a beauty and we look like we can beat any team since the West Brom turn around.

So far so good for Russell Martin. We are steadily climbing the table and the squad is getting fitter with hopefully more to come from Ntcham who is probably the best player in the league.

Have a feeling on this Smith for Ntcham is more likely from the above ? Not necessarily what I would do but where I think RM will land
