Win we could go 8th, lose we could end up 14th. Mad league this is. Had a full week to work on BASIC defending. Cut that nonsense out, and hope we'll nick a point. Grimes and midfield really gonna have to put a shift in up there, Wilder will have em all over us.

Alternatively to the 'spell' theory, 3 managers of professional football clubs (2 of whom played the game at a pretty high level themselves) all rate Grimes extremely highly and have made him one of their first names on the team-sheet. So perhaps it's just that you're wrong about him?

We're currently in a mid table mediocrity slot, maybe people need to take the blinkers off, we're really ordinary and Grimes has gift wrapped a few goals this season, either a suicidal pass or missing simple interceptions and tackles that he should've made.. but his stats are great though

Equally Grimes was a regular in the side that reached the playoffs 2 years in a row, scoring the goal that took us to the playoff final last season.

I'm no massive Grimes fan, but he's clearly a far better player than you're suggesting. I'd suggest you may be the one struggling with blinkers.

I think the thing that annoys fans with Grimes is he seems undroppable under the last two managers.
Even when he makes mistakes, isn't fitting our pattern of play, he never gets dropped or subbed.
It isn't as if he is the best midfielder in the division.
Hell, he isn't even the best midfielder in our club ( personally at least two better)
I found it so frustrating last Saturday watching endless short passes being given in triangles whilst Grimes was rooted to the same spot on the halfway line.
Plus as many have pointed out, he is so one footed it is incredible.
Even Ronaldo, arguably the world's best player, was dropped on Saturday ? Grimes is no Ronaldo

Probably not a fair comparison. At 36, I think it's more likely Ronaldo was rested on Sunday having played 91 minutes against Villareal. Grimes is 26.

Surely coming up to last chance for Williams after a string of incredibly underwhelming performances
Also looks like another lonely day up front for Paterson and Piroe unless Smith sits and Downes pushes up
