Captain Grimes on his way to Coventry City?

Fuck him.
In some ways a shame he isn't playing tomorrow, there might have been one or two lads tempted to leave one on him.

Imagine if he had signed for them 24 hours prior and one of ours then crocked him for the rest of the season.

How tempting it must have been to write:

Grimes has been a player for the Swans since his arrival from Exeter City in 2015, making 333 appearances in total.

During his time he made a few contributions, including dreadful performances in the Premier League and consistently average displays in the Championship.

His cowardice in the tackle saw him miss just four Championship fixtures over six-and-a-half seasons. He was named club captain in 2019 for a reason that we've now forgotten.

I nearly always find myself turning bitter and twisted when a player decides to move on. In this instance, I can honestly say that Grimes moving to Cov is a relief. Has he gone for the money? I don't care. Has he gone to further his career? I don't care. Do I hope we smash Coventry tomorrow? Absolutely.

We have bigger fish to fry than getting bent out of shape over an average Championship player moving on.

Is that the first time we’ve never wished a player all the best and thanked him for his contribution???

What they wrote wasn't far off, tbh. Weird statement, looks like it was written by a robot.

Matt Grimes was made captain in 2019. Matt Grimes is 5'11'. Matt Grimes wore the number 8 shirt. Matt Grimes is a bipedal hominoid. ERRROR. END TRANSMISSION.

The evidence is trust me bro.
Ah, but you don't know. It may be true it may be not. However, I put over a week ago that he was disliked by the players and goy called out because I wouldn't reveal my source. And I was right. Or my source was right.

Here's my theory based on what we know so far, what has happened in the past and what we know about the personalities involved. Possibly cobblers, maybe a hint of truth.

The players aren't happy with Wiliams. That much seems certain. So Grimes, in his capacity as "Captain", and as we know he has done before, has gone to Coleman to whinge about it.

Coleman, undoubtedly suffering from his own buyers remorse over Williams, facing the headache of finding a replacement during a transfer window that they'd already planned for and well aware that Grimes' griping was one of the reasons why we found ourselves in the position of needing to appoint a new manager in the first place, has lost his temper and basically told Statty to shut up and play, to do what we're handsomely paying him to do and stop pretending that he's the one in charge.

Grimes has gone to the rest of the squad for support and found out that he is perhaps not as universally popular as he might have thought. Lots of them are new, many may be harbouring their own doubts as to whether a style of play that seems to have been custom designed to suit one man may not be ideal to make the best out of their own talents, and would be quite happy to change things up in a way that Grimes would not like and have told him so.

MG's agent suddenly finds himself with extra work to do.
A good shout possibly

I heard there was a discussion today as to whether he should be allowed on the pitch to wave goodbye to us. Seriously. Can you imagine ?
