You hit the nail on the head with your comments about harbingers of doom. I’ve never come across someone in such a senior position who is as negative as Witty.

Do you think he might be deliberately downbeat to try and get people to behave themselves until those figures can be achieved and were all a bit safer? Doesn’t strike me as being rocket science that.

He’s just on a downer because none of his blazers fit.

That’s possibly his approach and if so it’s the wrong one IMO. His leadership approach is hardly inspiring and based on the reaction of the public it’s been turning them off. If I was in his shoes I would not be attempting to scare folk into certain behavioural traits.

What would your approach be?

25 million vaccinated by March? Really?

We need to see the framework of a plan. How many stations, what level of resource behind it, what supply chain of vaccine etc. I assume this exists at government office level and publishing some of the proposals would do wonders for morale. I have seen some of the stats on the news, it provides hope and I hope that they keep up with the communication.

To offer hope, to offer vision, to offer a credible proposal that the public can understand across all levels. Instead he throws in the threat of restrictions next winter when we haven’t even broken the back of this one. That’s demoralising for even the most optimistic of person.

All sadly lacking since the start of this Pandemic, they couldn't have handled worse if they tried, in my opinion.
Communication is key in any situation, it gives clarity and certainty.

Ah. You prefer the Johnson approach. Apart from the credible proposal part of course.

 Hope and vision are not words that I associate with the beacon of light that is BoJo.

These politicians can just about roll out of bed, so I'll be keeping an eye on whether 25 million vaccines can be rolled out by March.

So far I've only heard 2 or 3 negative stories of the vaccine.
It'll be interesting if we hear more.

I really do hope we can have an Easter this year.

But he can’t help himself giving hope when he speaks publicly. “It’ll be over by the summer”. “We’ll have it nailed by Christmas”. “No need for any further lockdowns”. “Yes, you can all mix at Christmas”. Etc.

It was reported yesterday that 50,000 vaccines had been administered in Wales, the vaccine has been available for a about a month. Unless these figures are considerably increased it will take many more months before the population is protected, even if the figures are quadrupled it would take 10 months for 2 million people to receive the vaccine in Wales.
