US Election results thread

Biden's winning MI and WI. Nevada still close but lots of mail-in ballots still to count which will favour Biden.

And just like Clinton getting almost 3 million more votes than Trump, it looks like that won't mean anything.

Means sod all, he's losing.

I should not mention the other site, but....it's turning into a few personal meltdowns on there already!

Biden is still likely to be facing a hostile Senate. That could make his first couple of years a struggle, although it's probably fair to say at least half of that will be clearing up the Covid situation.

The 2022 mid terms will be fun.

Fkn hell, they draw it out don't they? It'll end up being wonderfully ironic if Trump only finds out he's lost 2-3 days after the election day because of States where Republican legislatures didn't pass laws to allow mail votes to be counted early. I've no idea who's going to win though. Biden is up in the States he needs to win, but will that hold as there's still a lot of counting to do.

Glad I'm not on the old site now - I expect there's a fair amount of support for Trump's insane comments about fraud, etc.

I posted something similar earlier.

This election may not be that bad for the Republican party even if, as looks likely, Biden wins. He's going to have to deal with Covid and the economic fallout for a while, the Democrats look to have underperformed yesterday in Senate and House elections, there's the threat of a split in the party between the moderate and left-wing elements, plus they will have a President who seems very unlikely to be seeking re-election, meaning they'll need a new candidate.

Add that to the policies Trump enacted, or at least the amount of Obama policies he managed to reverse/wind-back, plus putting 3 conservative justices on the Supreme Court, I'd still be pretty chipper if I was a Republican. Get themselves a good candidate for 2024 and they could be looking at a very good situation.
