Aye, it’s wumtastic on here at the moment. Not like cooper surrendered at Boro ever, after all.

A draw would definitely have been a fair result.

30 points from 23 and 60 points from the season is par for my expectations, and I think we’re unlucky not to be on 33 or 34 now. I’m pretty content personally, but we have to learn to USE all this possession.

Yeah, the general consensus was that we could accept a midtable finish if there were signs of improvement on the pitch. Moving in the right direction for me.

In Martinez first season that was sen as a roaring success and built us via Sousa and Rodgers, we had 31 points from the first 23 games. Stattomania…just call me dimmi.

For light relief after watching that, off to read ' The Planetswans Christmas story thread ' .

It's more believable than some of our defending, passing and shooting today.

Not sure we did enough to win it though. Boro had more better positions/chances.

Boro did the solid basics we did Billy smarts circus suicide football.

I used to know quite a few people who used to work for Billy Smart Circus. Although back in the day they used to call it BSC.

Grimes has been awful today

Today?

He's in terrible form, and if it wasn't for his mystical conning on the training ground and whole aura around the bloke from fans and all pundits bigging him up to something that he's not, he takes all set pieces (when is the last time he found the net or assisted a goal?).. 3 goals and 3 assists in God knows how many games now, we've got 3 years of him strolling about showing no leadership qualities, yet he's somehow conned everyone around the club thinking he's something remarkable. He's a journeyman padding his stats up with simple 5 yard passes sideways or backwards, and even when he does eventually play long, the pass is atrocious.

I don't see all the fuss, should be dropped, won't be dropped or even subbed, he's conned you all

“I thought we were outstanding in the second half, I will take that performance every single week. I thought we were excellent to a man,” said Martin

“Flynn Downes, Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton, Matt Grimes. I could go through the whole team.

“I will accept that every time away from home. I spoke yesterday about wanting to make it into a home game and being the team we wanted to be.

“We played the game we wanted to play but we have been punished for one really poor moment and not being clinical enough.”

Get into January ship some deadwood off and bring in some quality for the squad, we desperately need something creative off the bench a like for like with Paterson, put Manning back in the middle and bring in a LWB with pace, easier said than done ay.

Celina would have been a decent option from the bench I think.

Poor form from Martin.

Such the victim.

His ego is ultimately his and ours (for now) major downfall. His pressers, along with the way in which we play is predictably tiresome.

He needs to allow the senior players to wrest control of our in-game tactics and revert to more purposeful, winning football. Downs needs a stint back on the bench to allow us to grow and flourish again, just as we did without him hindering our talisman.

The journos need to be far more challenging, more searching, and earn their crust.

He sets us up like we're Man City, and we're not good enough to be like them, but he persists with it, even when it's glaringly obvious we can be get at, as the goal showed, I thought we were better in the 2nd half, but we should've been 2 or 3 down because Grimes is so poor, it's delusion with him, he's costing us points

I agree with I was hoping he would leave, he is no captain and slows us down. Not sure what the Middlesbrough commentators we saying when they were bigging up his free kicks.. but I can't recall ever see him score a free kick
