Why is Bennett getting hammered when he was off the pitch for three of the goals?

Beaten and outplayed by a better team ...
Nothing in midfield ... again.
Same side that was awful on Wednesday ... still awful.
Schooled by a side 20th position.
The only difference from many previous games for me was Huddersfield hit the net with their chances where others have missed the target.
Naughton is not a CB and he destroys the balance -- full back yes, CB ... no.
Bennett needs Cabango.
Guehi needs Roberts and Fulton to do more defending.
Grimes needs dropping,
Hourihane needs to show more industry.
Our tactics are generally poor, little imagination and no pace.
We have won games from stout defence and flashes of individual brilliance. Today the talk before the game was Huddersfield would be in our faces ... were they? I thought our effort was lame, passing was shocking and closing down almost non-existent.
Really disappointed but not surprised with the result.
It's just one game, no need to panic! No, it's how we have played for much of the season.

Pains me to say it but you make some good points there, specially the routs one, very strange pick by Steve.

routs?

I'd have said some very good points in it

Two bad games in a row for certain. Totally agree on Naughton - our back 3 should be Bennett, Guegi and Cabango and not change that unless it is nevessary.

But I completely disagree that it is how we have played for much of the season. And if it is then it has still been good enough to put us in the mix with 17 games to go (and in our own hands) so doesn't say much for the rest of the division.

The key here is not to overreact to a defeat - our first for two months in the league - (Remember we had 23 from the last 27 points before today) and make sure that we don't hit a run of form like Brentford have.

Let's see what it looks like this time next week before anybody presses the panic button.

Cooper made some pretty basic mistakes today but he also couldn't have predicted just how much space our normally tight defence would afford the opposition

Very good assessment of how we are atm, ateotd its upto cooper to keep it fresh and after weds game today was the time to do it now we have paid for us going stale.

The question is what will he do on weds? He will go with the same again as imo he doesn't have the balls to change things, he is too risk averse, he relies on us being good in defence, the problem lies when we go behind, unfortunately he panics which is a shame as we do have the players on the bench.

Hopefully we might see a few changes, if not we will be in for much of the same staleness, I do hope I am proved wrong.

I don't care about the loss, the manner of the loss or even the damage to our goal difference. We were due a bad day at the office. The Morris injury has ramped my pessimism right up though

One player blaze, a good player with much promise and I know he's not had much of a chance but he's not set the club on fire so far. The other players still fit need to step up now and show what they ate made of.

I don't think he's been given a chance to set the club on fire, but you're right, he hasnt. But he was a potential ace up our sleeve and I don't look at the bench with the same optimism without him. Of course, we got to this position largely without him, but as fatigue and poor form sets in I fear our bench doesn't have enough game-changers

On a personal level I've been ridiculously optimistic this season, I called promotion back in early October coz I thought the squad was coming together beautifully and a returning MGW was gonna be the cherry on top of it all. Losing him was a big setback but I was hopeful that Morris would prove to have a similar star factor and was looking forward to him getting the opportunity to prove it

Yes mate I get it.... It's a big kick in the balls for us for sure... Mad thing is though, we get a win on Wednesday and we'll be riding high as fans again. I'm still tamping that it's so tight at the top this season. Football huh.

Credit where credit is due. Well done to Huddersfield, they were the better team & scored some good goals.

Much like Wednesday we weren't at the races which begs the question why we had the same starting 11? Several players were off the pace and bad luck for Morris, feel for the lad hopefully it's not as bad as it looked.

Dust ourselves off and onto Wednesday.

Keep the optimism. Just don’t let that bastard hope into the house 🤣

He was trying to get us playing but kept making mistakes as did everyone of our players,I would have kept him on he's our most experienced cb i'd have taken Naughton off he was equally as bad if not worse in the first half.Fulton getting booked early screwed us.
Think we need a different partnership upfront aswell Andre is trying to do too much he needs to link play more simply pass and move Andre!.

People need to calm down. It was a bad day at the office. Every team has a blip and we had one today. Learn from the mistakes and move on. We are still in a great position!
