Taking the knee

Now I'll start with like everyone else I don't have the answer but will give my thoughts. The reason taking the knee has been explained many times. Taking the knee is also seen as a symbol of BLM which many people take as being more than to do with racism. If players taking the knee is to show solidarity against any form of discrimination should it be very clear and not open to interpretation. If educating people who only see the knee and not look deeper may have the incorrect view. Would changing to something else make a difference I don't know but maybe to some it would. Even when watching Sky I've heard it described as against racism and at other times also against all type of discrimination. I don't buy into changing, as giving into racists, as I don't think it will change their views at all. If by changing can enlighten more people then it could be all for the good.

I read an article earlier that mentioned how the fuss over taking the knee has prompted the usually silent majority of average, decent people to make some noise. Hence the clapping to drown out the minority booing players taking the knee and the standing ovations given by Spurs and Brentford fans to Bukayo Saka recently.

No idea if it's true, but it's a nice thought and suggests that maybe the knee is the right gesture as it's forcing a response. It shows that the likes of Samba are firmly in the minority, no matter what he likes to say.

Totally agree and Samba is a throw back to a dark and distant age when morons like him felt they could wear their racist views on their chest with impunity

Right wing loony bingo.

No it isn't - I think 2 or 3 original organisers were trained Marxists but socialist, communist and Marxist are all words used by extremist right wing (mostly) Americans to discredit others.
It does not campaign to defund the police to end the police, it means using some of the vast amounts of money to develop social improvement and thus reduce the need for draconian policing often a system that disproportionately focusses on racial stereotyping. This isn't Marxism, it is what has reduced crime, re-offending and need for long and expensive prison sentences in Finland (previously the highest level of reoffending in Europe). Basically we know the more you spend on policing and prison without invention in community the higher the crime rate (US & UK).
So what if its leaders are women and transgender? You use the as if it were barb! In reality is shows BLM is about equality beyond your microscopic definition.
Research the internet! Are you for real? You can fins anything on the internet from Elvis lives to Hitler got it right.
What about Portland - George Floyd was murdered. The state was in turmoil and the city incapable of convincing pressed minorities they were safe and not targets of brutality. The situation was inflamed by Trump.
The aim is to gain equality. US democracy is seen as failing. Presidential candidates win most voted but are not elected as big money buys electoral college votes, state officials are usually political appointments.
There is nothing sinister or wrong about wanting your fellow man to be free and equal .. it used to be called Christian.

Hahaha brilliant, and all the others calling me racist, thick, too lazy to read history, would prefer going to war with a Polish national rather than myself etc etc fecking hilarious...if I've achieved one thing in this thread it has to be I've got right under your skin, job well done I'd say 👍

As for picking things off twitter, nah...don't do social media butt. Stone Island, sorry but I prefer Barbour. And as for the comment about 'hopefully we'll never have another war'(probably because you're a coward, but FYI I've been there, seen it and done it on more than one occasion.

My views differ to a lot of you on here, does not make me a racist. I have foreign mates, coloured, Asian, even cardiff mates! But one thing I certainly differ from the majority is I am proud to be British.

This is the danger of Twitter. It's given simpletons free access to the minds of US nutjobs. They then repeat parrot fashion the tripe they've read from some other crackpot on Twitter who doesn't understand what the fack they're on about, throwing out some shite about Marxism and then telling you to do your research like they're Fackin Einstein. This point is beautifully illustrated by Mad_Mike above in what is a perfect parody poking fun at how demented these people are.

I must say, I'm quite intrigued by these 'coloured' friends you have. I take it they used face paint to colour themselves in, or did they go old school and use shoe polish like back in the day?

Samba is so wound up that he's managed to put this post in the wrong thread. Poor dab.

The post you are responding to is not the one you have quoted and it isn't even in this thread. In forums you tend to respond to the thread you are in, not a completely different one, as someone who has read only this one would wonder what you were going on about. You don't want to appear even more dumb than you already seem to be, do you?

I didn't realise so many dickheads 'follow' Swansea City, you certainly are one...even though half the said dickheads aren't proper Swansea Jacks, just wannabees from the valleys, down west etc

Where did I say I'm not a racist, I've got coloured mates? I actually said...I'm not a racist...and, I do have coloured mates as well as foreign ones etc You obviously have too much time on your hands, but I have to work and leave you chat away with that other còck mate of yours 🤭
